‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional dancer Dianne Buswell has confirmed her split from soap star boyfriend Anthony Quinlan.
On Friday, various outlets reported that Dianne and Anthony - who played Gilly in ‘Hollyoaks’ for six years, and now stars as Pete Barton in ‘Emmerdale’ - had chosen to end their relationship after 10 months.
Dianne’s rep has now confirmed this to be the case, putting the break-up down to their hectic schedules.
Her rep told Digital Spy: “Due to their busy schedules and distance they have split but still remain really close friends.”
The Australian ballroom star joined ‘Strictly’ last year, having previously appeared as a pro on the Aussie version of the show, and partnered Reverend Richard Coles during her first UK series.
After three weeks in the competition, she and Reverend Richard were the second couple to be eliminated, though she’s having a far more successful time this year, where she’s been paired with YouTuber Joe Sugg.
The two have so far put on an energetic show for the judges, but will be changing things up on Saturday night, when they perform a Waltz to ‘The Rainbow Connection’, originally performed by Kermit The Frog in ‘The Muppet Movie’.
Dianne is the second of this year’s ‘Strictly’ stars to go through a break-up on this year’s series, with comedian Seann Walsh’s now-ex confirming she’d ended their relationship after he was caught on camera kissing his professional partner, Katya Jones.
Since then, Seann and Katya have dominated the headlines, with more than one million additional viewers tuning in to watch their first dance since the scandal last Saturday.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ continues on Saturday night at 6.40pm on BBC One.
