'Strictly Come Dancing' 2016 Line-Up: Danny Mac Swaps 'Hollyoaks' For The Dance Floor

We'reexcited about this latest announcement.

Former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor Danny Mac has been confirmed as the latest edition to the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ line-up.

Danny’s spot on the new series of ‘Strictly’ was announced on Tuesday (16 August), on the show’s official Twitter page.

The show had initially teased the identity of the seventh star on the line-up with a short clip, showing the mystery contestant waving one of the scoring paddles in front of his face.

Half an hour later, it was revealed to be the former ‘Hollyoaks’ hunk, whose involvement will come as a surprise to ‘Strictly’ fans, as he wasn’t among the celebrities who had been widely tipped for the new series.

Speaking about his upcoming stint on the show, Danny admitted that performing in front of the judges was the most daunting aspect of ‘Strictly’, joking: “I am terrified of them all!

“I get judged every day of my life as an actor so I am used to it, but I hate not being able to do something and they are going to be the ones to tell me – in front of millions! I do like a bit of tough love though so I will take it and deal with it… I hope.”

Danny is best known for playing Dodger in ‘Hollyoaks’, which he did for four years, until he bowed out of the Channel 4 soap last year.

Other celebs who have been confirmed for the new series include TV personality Laura Whitmore, former MP Ed Balls and, more recently, pop singer Louise Redknapp.
