'Strictly Come Dancing' 2016: Gleb Savchenko Quits, As Full Professional Line-Up Revealed

He's the fifth 'Strictly' pro to bow out ahead of the new series.

Gleb Savchenko has announced that he won’t be returning for the next series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

The Russian pro has confirmed that he is stepping down from his role on the BBC One ballroom competition due to “family commitments”, after just one year on the show.

Speaking about his departure, Gleb explains: “I thoroughly enjoyed taking part on the last series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and especially the way that the UK gave me such a warm welcome but due to family commitments I won't be returning to the show for the next series.”

He adds: “I'll definitely be tuning in though.”

Gleb has is now the fifth professional dancer to bow out of ‘Strictly’ following last year’s series, following in the footsteps of Ola Jordan, Kristina Rihanoff, Aliona Vilani and Tristan MacManus.

The professional line-up for this year’s ‘Strictly’ has now been revealed, with three newcomers filling in for the departing stars.

New to ‘Strictly’ are Ukranian champion Oksana Platero, Spanish dance professional Gorka Marquez and World Champion Katya Jones.

They’re all qualified, they’re all talented and they’re all very easy on the eye.

Also returning to the show from series past will be Anton du Beke, Brendan Cole, Joanne Clifton, Karen Clifton, Kevin Clifton, Pasha Kovalev, Natalie Lowe, Oti Mabuse, Janette Manrara, Giovanni Pernice and Aljaž Škorjanec.

So far, it’s not known which celebrities will be taking part, though daytime staple Judge Rinder is the latest star tipped to be putting in an appearance.
