Police arrested a suspect at Manchester’s Arndale shopping centre on Friday evening after reports emerged of a man armed with a knife.

According to eyewitness reports, shoppers and staff alike were evacuated from the area as police descended – just a week on from a knife attack inside the busy shopping centre which saw four people rushed to hospital.

Videos and images on social media show a huge response from the emergency services, with the Manchester Evening News reporting that the incident had started as a fight outside a branch of Nandos inside the centre.
