Paris
Ah the city of light. Catch a direct flight from airports around the UK and soak up the culture for a brief weekend visit. The perfect place for a winter trip or to spend a summer’s eve sat chatting outside a cafe – there’s never a bad time to visit.
Apart from the many famous historical and cultural sites, the city boast plenty of gorgeous green spaces and promenades – as well as cafes, bars and restaurants.
Amsterdam
A hub of culture, there’s more to Amsterdam than smoking weed. Instead, get your art fix at Rijksmuseum in the city centre, make sure you visit Anne Frank’s house, and the canalside Bloemenmarkt is the next best thing if you can’t make it the tulip fields outside the city.
Copenhagen
You’ll be pleased to know that the capital city of Denmark was awarded the top spot for city destinations to visit in 2019, according to the Lonely Planet. If that alone doesn’t sway you, perhaps the castles, museums and gorgeous gardens will. The Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek art museum is a must-see even if you’re just going to eye up all the plants.
Budapest
During the colder months, head to Budapest. Feast at one of the fab hummus bars, soak in the thermal baths and marvel at the impressive architecture –the Buda Castle and Matthias Church are not to be missed.
Sydney
If you can stomach the 24-hour travel time, Sydney should be high on your bucket list. You can always swim off the jet lag in one of the many, picturesque outdoor pools .

Lille
