Terrance Paul Beghin went missing in November, 1986, but officials just found his 1982 Corvette in a Florida canal.
A crew in Charlotte County, Fla., pulled the sports car from a canal in Punta Gorda, Fla. Thursday, but it didn't appear Beghin was inside the vehicle, the Associated Press reported.
Beghin was last seen around midnight on Nov. 1, 1986. He called a roommate to see if the man needed a ride, but never showed up.
He was 26 at the time.
Beghin's sister checked a boat he had docked in Boca Grande, but reported him missing after finding no signs of him, HeraldTribune.com reported.
A search of his home revealed that Beghin only had the clothes he was wearing and $100 on him when he disappeared. Beghin was a diabetic, but did not take his insulin with him.
Officials suspected foul play at the time, Fox4Now.com reported.
His sister, Deborah Dunbar, who lives in Michigan, told News-Press.com, she was grateful for the Charlotte County sheriff’s office and their efforts in the recovery.
“Hopefully this will bring some closure,” she said.
Anyone with information on Beghin's disappearance is asked to call the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office at 941-639-2101.
