‘The Chase’ Viewers Cry 'Fix' After The Chaser Wins The Show Despite ‘Running Out Of Time’

Was it too close to call?

Viewers of ‘The Chase’ have accused producers of fixing the result on Sunday night’s show after the Chaser won despite appearing to run out of time.

Contestants Patricia, Marian and Graham amassed a prize fund of £30,000, with Chaser Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett needing to answer 21 questions correctly in two minutes to deny the team their winnings.

In the nail-biting final six seconds, The Beast needed to get two more questions right in order to win.

When host Bradley Walsh started to ask the final question, the Chaser cut him off mid-sentence to give the correct answer. But was he in time?

Just watching #thechase I think that’s a bit unfair - I don’t think he was in time! pic.twitter.com/vKXasMuV8f

Some fans certainly didn’t think so and took to Twitter to make their feelings known...

Really dissapointed at the result of The Chase they should play the recording back. The panel beat the chaser they were worthy winners and should have been given the money. The clock was at 00 when he shouted the last answer.

#thechase if that was the chasers then they wouldn’t of allowed it he didn’t get the full answer out before 0 pic.twitter.com/tPPeWfrYKG

Speaking after winning the show, The Beast told the three contestants: “You didn’t deserve to lose. I’m really sorry guys, you were superb.”

It is not the first time ‘The Chase’ has been at the centre of fix claims.

The Beast looked to have been given an advantage in the final round of the quiz when the clock got stuck and he was given an extra second’s time.

However, bosses later insisted it was due to an editing error that took place in post-production.
