After weeks of guessing, The Masked Singer’s Fox has been unmasked as Denise Van Outen – just as many viewers had suspected.
Following her identity being revealed, the TV personality has admitted there wasn’t a single person she told about doing the show, but found one aspect of the show particularly difficult.
Denise said: “I never told a soul I was doing the show. My family, Eddie and Betsy, had no idea. It was fun keeping it to myself.
“The hardest part for me was not speaking. I knew half the TV crew from previous jobs!”
Sharing some behind-the-scenes pictures from the show in her Instagram, Denise also told fans: “At last, I can finally tell the truth. My mask has slipped.
“After many weeks sneaking around being an undercover singing fox, dealing with endless questions from friends and family, telling constant lies and tales (bushy ones!), I started to dislike the fox I had become.
“But once you’re out, you’re ‘out out’ - no going back in the Den! This is where the fun begins.”
Saturday night’s episode also saw Monster unmasked as US singer CeeLo Green, after panellist Rita Ora correctly guessed his identity.
CeeLo said that appearing on the mysterious singing show had been a “really cool and invigorating experience”.
He added: “Well y’know, for obvious reasons weird and wacky is right down my alley so on any given occasion I’ve worn probably things crazier than that or just as crazy so, I don’t think so.”
Octopus, Hedgehog and Queen Bee remain in the competition and are through to the final, where all three contestants will have their identities revealed.
Previous stars to be unmasked on the show include Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters, Skunk Anansie’s Skin, singer Kelis, ex-footballer Teddy Sheringham, The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins, former home secretary Alan Johnson and EastEnders star Patsy Palmer.
The Masked Singer concludes on Saturday at 7pm on ITV.
