As we head into an especially dreary January, who can honestly say they’re not in need of some sunshine in their lives right now?

Well, Channel 4 may well have the solution.

The broadcaster has announced that all four seasons of The O.C. will be available to watch on their streaming service All 4 later this month.

Anyone in dire need of some teen drama nostalgia can stream the hit show (and sing along with the theme tune every single time, obviously) from Friday 22 January – so there’s not long to wait until we can re-live Seth and Summer’s romance from the beginning, and shed tears all over again at that Marissa scene.

The O.C. debuted in 2003 and ran for four years, helping push cast members like Adam Brody, Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson into the spotlight.

It proved hugely popular with viewers on both sides of the Atlantic, and is credited with helping boost the profile of the Orange County area in which it was set, with reality shows like Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Real Housewives Of Orange County following shortly afterwards.

Fans’ hopes for a revival were raised in 2019 when Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson posted a photo together on Instagram – but these were quickly shot down by The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz.

In recent times, All 4 has treated viewers to a number of nostalgic shows from back in the day, with Dawson’s Creek, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and One Tree Hill already available to stream.
