Viewers of The Real Full Monty On Ice were left in tears on Tuesday night, as a host of famous names stripped to raise awareness of cancer.

The ITV show saw stars including Ashley Banjo, Coleen Nolan, Linda Lusardi and Chris Hughes staging an ice-based performance that culminated in a striptease.

Throughout the show – aimed to encourage people to check themselves for signs of cancer – many of those involved shared their heartbreaking experiences with the disease.

The singer broke down in tears on the day of the performance, as photos of his late relatives appeared behind him before he sang Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas in their memory.

Former Love Island star Shaughna Phillips was also emotional as she discussed losing her dad to cancer, while fellow Islander Chris Hughes spoke about his brother’s recent diagnosis with testicular cancer, which came after he had a live examination on ITV’s This Morning in 2018.

I really hope people watch The Real Full Monty, and listen to Jake Quickenden’s story and appreciate the way it leaves the families of those who pass from cancer. I hope people understand that the way some of us are the way we are is as a coping mechanism to hide from the pain

Gah. I should maybe not have watched The Real Full Monty on Ice. As fun as the final performance was I'm a tearful emotional wreck from the cancer stories the celeb participants shared and I really miss my mum.

Watching The Real Full Monty On Ice and I'm in tears. It is so so important for both men and women to check themselves regularly. Cancer doesn't discriminate. Don't be afraid to go to the doctor. Every day matters. Time is precious.
