"We will need a newsy blob here."

The Royal Baby has arrived. Meghan Markle has given birth to a baby boy!

But spare a thought for news desks across the country as a sleepy Bank Holiday Monday turned to chaos, as they scrambled to publish their pre-written stories as quickly as possible.

Especially at The Telegraph where someone forgot to finish writing the announcement.

Readers of the site were greeted with some instructions for the journalist on shift, saying “will need a newsy blob here when we get a line” and “and another one here”.

Although, in fairness, the Royal Baby is a bit of a newsy blob.

The swiftly-corrected faux-pas was spotted by freelance journalist Harry Wallop but the site now looks like this.

The Telegraph

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced the birth of their first child, with the royal couple sharing news of their baby son’s arrival through a statement from their Instagram account @sussexroyal.

Meghan Markle, 37, and Prince Harry, 34, said they are “excited” about this “special time in their lives”.

A beaming Harry called it “the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined,” adding: “How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension.

“We’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there, it’s been amazing, so we just wanted to share this with everybody.”
