David Kau could not have been any more correct when he said social media has given a platform for young aspiring comedians to flourish.

More and more skit makers and vloggers are using these platforms to share their content much to the delight of their followers.

In an interview with HuffPost SA, Kau said he liked watching youngsters grow into the kind of people they want to be in the industry.

"However, this does not mean every funny person on social media can have a stand-up show. Not everyone is good on stage and you don't have to be good on stage to prove your worth as a comic. Find someone to package you properly for the platform you are on. Keep at what you are good at and if that's pushing your work on social media, then stay there. If your dream is to be a stand-up comedian, then take up the path," Kau said.

We have rounded up four of our favourite comics whom we think you should have on your radar. If it's a good laugh you're after then here is where you can start:

LaSizwe:

Following a report claiming that rapper AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes, was cheating on his media personality girlfriend, Bonang Matheba, LaSizwe, real name Thulasizwe Dambuza, posted a parody episode of the reality show "Being Bonang" and his followers could barely breathe from laughter. The currently has over 200, 000 views on Facebook and over 50,000 on Youtube.

The 18-year-old is also the younger brother to media personality, Khanyi Mbau.

Siviwe Lutseke:

Born and bred in the Eastern Cape, Siviwe's interpretation of current affairs is so hilarious you won't be able to stop yourself from laughing.

Siviwe also shot a parody talking to the AKA cheating rumour. His was a "Nyan Nyan" episode and you can watch it here:

Siyabulela Deli:

We got to know Siyabulela, who goes by his stage name, TaFire, not so long ago and we're so glad we did. We think you'll also agree that he is indeed, fire:

Fash Ngobese:

Real name Hosana, Fash is known and loved for the twists he puts to current affairs. He does not disappoint when it comes to delivering some of the funniest takes on the headlines.

And you know what they say about teamwork...it makes the dream work. The guys got together to create one mean parody episode of popular Mzansi Magic reality dating show, Date My Family. Watch it here:
