Hoping for a festival romance this summer? You can now put in the groundwork in advance thanks to Tinder’s new “festival mode”.
The function on the dating app allows users to add a badge to your profile highlighting which festivals you’ll be attending this year.
From there, you’ll be able to match and chat with other users attending the same event up to three weeks before you arrive.
Play your swipes right and you could find love in the fields – or at the very least someone to help you lug your bags and booze into camp.
The new feature will roll out at some of the largest music festivals in the UK, including Parklife, Lovebox, All Points East and British Summer Time, as well as other festivals overseas.
Tinder said it consistently sees a spike in activity around festival time as tens of thousands of music fans come together – every pun intended.
For example, in 2018 Tinder app registrations during Lovebox increased around 36 times and app activity increased by 25% at British Summer Time Festival, the company said.
Festival Mode will begin rolling out on Tinder starting 2 May 2019 for the participating festivals below. Users will have access to their event-specific badges approximately three weeks prior to the start of each event.
British Summer Time: 7/5
All Points East: 5/24
Lovebox: 7/12
Parklife: 6/8
EDC Las Vegas (US): 5/17
Hangout Music Fest (US): 5/17
Governors Ball (US): 5/31
Bonnaroo (US): 6/13
Firefly (US): 6/21
Faster Horses (US): 7/19
Hard Summer (US): 8/3
EDC Orlando (US): 11/9
If meeting Festival Bae in advance isn’t enough of a draw, the app will also be giving users the chance to meet up at select events, offering VIP upgrades, complimentary merchandise and more.
