Parents Team Up With Tooth Fairy In Devious Scheme To Get their Son To Do His Chores

'Do not make us come and take your teeth.'

When a 10-year-old boy left a tooth out for the tooth fairy he got rather more than he bargained for in return.

Elliot’s parents had realised the loss of a baby tooth - a step on his journey to adulthood - was the perfect moment to give their son a gentle reminder about his responsibilities.

Elliot’s dad, who goes by the Imgur name of Philybits, shared the text exchange he had with his wife as they plotted their next move.

Click through the gallery below to see their plan go from gleeful idea to full blown official letter from the tooth fairy’s office.

The letter addressed to Mr Elliott, in the Second Bedroom read:

“Thank you for the return of your fourth molar. Here is payment upon receipt; the agreed upon sum of $5.00 (five American dollars).

“By leaving your tooth out for one of our Tooth Adjusters, you, the toothee, have entered into a contractual obligation to perform measured work, herein known as Chores. Please see the attached addendum for an updated list of those chores.

“We have been notified by your Parental Units that these obligations have frequently gone uncompleted, and often have tho be requested multiple times before they are, in fact, done.

“If these obligations are not fully completed, without demand, in the specified time frame (every day after school or camp), we will have no recourse but to reposses all of your remaining teeth, by force if necessary, with no repayment to you.

“The most comfortable solution for all three parties involved (Tooth Adjusters, Toothee and Parental Units) is for you, the toothee, to do your Chores as expected, on time, every day.

“Do not make us come and take your teeth.”

Within one day of being posted on imgur on Thursday 21 July, Phillybits post had been viewed more than 99,000 times and the dad received requests for the letter template from other parents keen to enact the devious scheme themselves.
