A Canadian tourist has died in a fall after his zipline cable snapped during a holiday in Thailand.
The accident happened on Saturday on the island of Chiang Mai on a biplane operated by the Flight of the Gibbon Co.
The Bangkok Post identified the man as Spencer Charles, 25, and said he had travelled to the country with a group that included his girlfriend.
The newspaper quoted police sources as stating the company had accepted full responsibility for what had happened and an investigation is ongoing.
Earlier reports suggested Charles had fallen a height of 100m, but this was later corrected to 12m.
A source told the BBC he tumbled down a hill after his fall. The victim’s father has traveled to Chiang Mai to take his body back to Canada.
