Protesters are poised to greet US President Donald Trump as the second day of his state visit to the UK gets underway.

Up to 1 million people could attend in London, with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn expected to join the throng – after snubbing Trump on Monday by boycotting a state banquet.

Around 100,000 people descended on the capital’s streets last July to protest against Trump during his ‘working visit’.

Demonstrators will also be joined by the Trump Baby blimp, a 20ft tall balloon depicting the 72-year-old as a ranting baby, equipped with a phone.

Protests were already kicking off throughout Monday around Buckingham Palace and on Vauxhall Bridge, where an Amnesty International banner reading “Resist Trump” was unfurled.

Capping off day one of his stay, the head of state tweeted: “London part of trip is going really well. The Queen and the entire Royal family have been fantastic. The relationship with the United Kingdom is very strong. Tremendous crowds of well wishers and people that love our Country.

“Haven’t seen any protests yet, but I’m sure the Fake News will be working hard to find them. Great love all around. Also, big Trade Deal is possible once UK gets rid of the shackles.”

Other speakers at the Tuesday protest are expected to include shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry, TUC general secretary Frances O’Grady and Green party MP Caroline Lucas.

The demonstration is set to start in Trafalgar Square, but will be blocked from marching down Whitehall, in front of 10 Downing Street, due to security concerns.

Trump’s packed three-day schedule began on Monday, when he received a ceremonial welcome from the Queen at Buckingham Palace.

He viewed the Royal Collection, before laying a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior at Westminster Abbey.

He then enjoyed tea with the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall at Clarence House, before attending a state banquet in the evening.

Trump was joined by First Lady Melania Trump, daughter Ivanka and her husband and presidential adviser Jared Kushner along the way, as well as press secretary Sarah Sanders and advisor Kellyanne Conway.
