Former ‘X Factor’ judge Tulisa Contostavlos has been banned from driving for 15 months after pleading guilty to drink driving.
The N-Dubz star broke down in tears after giving her guilty plea to driving under the influence of alcohol, which saw her collide with another car outside Southgate tube station in September last year.
Police were called to the scene after the 27-year-old’s £150,000 Ferrari crashed into a Saab on a roundabout outside the underground station.
She was breathalysed at the scene before being arrested.
The singer had only taken delivery of the sports car just days before the accident.
Tulisa was sentenced at Highbury Corner magistrates court earlier today (4 April). As well as a 15 month ban from driving, she was also ordered to pay fines and costs totaling £1185.
Since leaving the ‘X Factor’ judging panel, Tulisa has kept a low profile, admitting she now prefers to create a ‘bubble’ out of the limelight.
“The more I put myself out there the more I am on a platform to be judged,” she explained. “Right now I figure the less I say the less gip I get.
“I like creating a bubble where I am not being Tulisa, and I retreat, and this is my real life.”
