No pregnant person wants to be told what they can and can’t do by complete strangers in public – especially when they’re six months along.

So you can feel for the woman who, while ordering a coffee at Starbucks, was told that she should be drinking decaf – by someone she had never met.

But brilliantly, she batted back with the perfect response – telling the stranger she wasn’t pregnant.

Of course, this lead to a very awkward exchange and the person profusely apologising. Too right.

(I am 6 months pregnant)

Me after ordering my coffee:

Stranger at Starbucks: you know you should be drinking decaf when you’re pregnant.

Me: I’m... not pregnant.

Stranger: (horrified) I am so, so sorry!

And that’s what you get for giving unsolicited advice.

The woman’s tweet has been like more than 700,000 times, and had nearly 85,000 replies – with many relating to her brilliant response.

My favorite reply has always been: “Thank you, but we’ve chosen to raise her poorly.”

After I had my son, a lady stopped me & asked if I was able to “properly feed him by the breast”

I said “he doesn’t seem to like boobs all that much. We think he’s gay.”

Her face was priceless.

Next person that says something like that, really blow their hair back by telling them you need the coffee to get rid of the hangover you have.

Grown folks need to mind their business.😑

Safe to say, the mum very much enjoyed the replies.

How much caffeine can you have during pregnancy?

The NHS advises if you’re pregnant, limit the amount of caffeine you have to 200 milligrams (mg) a day. This is about the same as 2 mugs of instant coffee; one mug of filter coffee; or two mugs of tea.
