Police have released shocking footage of a man being shot in the leg as they appeal for information following an attack in south west London.
CCTV footage shows a man getting out of a car, holding a pump action shotgun, before running towards the victim and firing twice.
The victim ran off and the suspect returned to the car and drove off.
The incident took place on Tuesday June 4 at 9.30pm on Bedford Road, Clapham, outside the Falcon pub.
When officers attended the scene, there was no trace of any victims or suspects.
However, police were later informed a 24-year-old man had turned up at a south London hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.
Detectives from Operation Trident, the Met Police’s anti-gun crime unit, have linked the injured man to the shooting.
The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening and he has since been discharged from hospital.
DC Melanie Burridge said: “This appears to be a deliberate attempt on a man’s life with a deadly weapon. It was committed on a busy street and placed the public in immediate danger.
“I am asking anyone with information to contact us immediately. We cannot allow such deadly crimes on our streets and our communities need to work with us to stop them.”
After reviewing the footage, officers have identified that a light-coloured Lexus RX 300 on false plates pulled up outside the scene.
The car has not been recovered and no arrests have yet been made.
