Virginia Giuffre, who accused Jeffrey Epstein of forcing her into sex trafficking, wrote Sunday on Instagram that she went into renal failure following a crash with a school bus in Australia, where she lives.

“This year has been the worst start to a new year, but I won’t bore anyone with the details but I think it important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km as we were slowing for a turn that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can,” the 41-year-old wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of herself with a bruised face.

“I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology,” she added. “I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time, but you know what they say about wishes. S**T in one hand and wish in the other & I guarantee it’s still going to be s**t at the end of the day.”

She then thanked her followers for being “wonderful people” and a “great part” of her life.

Giuffre’s representative said in a comment to HuffPost that she had been in a “serious accident” and is receiving medical care at the hospital.

“She greatly appreciates the support and well wishes people are sending,” the spokesperson said.

Australian authorities told People there was a crash outside Perth on March 24 between a bus and a car that resulted in “no reported injuries” and for which nobody was taken to the hospital.

“The collision was reported by the bus driver the following day. The car sustained approximately $2,000 worth of damage,” police said in a statement to People. Authorities did not say whether the incident involved Giuffre.

In 2021, Giuffre sued Prince Andrew, alleging he sexually abused her 20 years ago. In the lawsuit, she alleged that Andrew had sex with her without her consent when she was 17 years old and that the “extreme and outrageous conduct” still causes her “significant emotional and psychological distress and harm.”

Giuffre met Ghislaine Maxwell at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in 2000. Maxwell offered Giuffre a job as Epstein’s traveling massage therapist. Over the next two and a half years, Giuffre said Epstein and Maxwell groomed her to have sex with many high-profile people, including Prince Andrew.

When Epstein and Maxwell sent her to Thailand to pick up a woman for them, Giuffre met her future husband there and cut off communication with the pair.

In 2009, under the pseudonym Jane Doe, she filed a lawsuit against Epstein and Maxwell alleging sex trafficking. in 2011, she made her claims public.

Giuffre settled with Epstein, Maxwell and Prince Andrew.

In 2014, Giuffre launched a nonprofit organization that works to empower “survivors to reclaim their stories and bring an end to sex trafficking.”
