With a line-up including Carol Vorderman, Scarlett Moffatt, Larry Lamb and Ola Jordan, the new series of ‘I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’ already looks set to be a vintage year.
And while there’s a whole host of household names among the contestants, there’s one or two we know a little less well, one of them being Jordan Banjo.
As a member of dance troupe Diversity, Jordan is one of the busiest street dancers in the business, so get to know him a little better ahead of I’m A Celeb’s launch, with our handy 9 Facts In 90 Seconds guide...
1. He’s the little brother of Diversity leader Ashley
The siblings were two of the troupe’s founding members, who shot to fame when they won ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ in 2009, when Jordan was just 16.
“He is my role model and the person I look up to. He is so excited for me, he thinks I am very brave,” he says.
2. He’s turned his hand to TV presenting
Jordan served as a backstage presenter on Sky1 series ‘Got To Dance’ with Diversity pal Perri Kiely, while his brother Ashley served as a judge on the show. Jordan and Perri then went on to host their own show called ‘Jordan and Perri’s Ultimate Block Party’, and have also presented the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards for the last three years.
3. He used to have a very famous girlfriend
Jordan was previously in a relationship with Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson for 10 months, before she got together with now fiancé Jake Roche.
4. But sorry ladies, he’s now in a new relationship
He is currently dating unknown Naomi Ella, who has already been voicing her support for Jordan’s jungle journey on Twitter.
5. He’s not feeling too confident about the Bushtucker Trials
He says: “To prepare myself, I have been watching all the Bushtucker Trials on YouTube – but I have been scaring myself, If there are spiders around, there is a strong chance there will be tears!”
6. He’s missing a number of Diversity commitments while in the jungle
Not only will miss being on stage with the dance troupe at this year’s Royal Variety Performance, he’ll also be absent for rehearsals for Diversity’s upcoming ITV Christmas special.
7. We don’t think he’s looking for fame from appearing on the show
He previously said of being in Diversity: “We’ve never been the kind of people who go out to clubs to try and get photographed by the paparazzi, or be the centre of attention. For us, it’s all about dancing and entertaining people.”
8. His Instagram page is worth a visit
He has a very cute puppy called Scuba, and also regularly posts snaps like this:
9. Speaking of which, he’s worried about what the jungle will do to that six pack
“My diet is primarily made up of protein and this is going to be such a switch for me” chuckles Jordan. “It’s different to the Diversity diet and it will be a shock to the system.”
‘I’m A Celebrity’ launches on Sunday 13 November at 9pm on ITV.
