Which Fabulous Females Gave Ant and Dec a Run for Their Money at the NTAs 2016?

Ant and Dec may have been the big winners on the night - after gathering their 15th gong at the National TV Awards. *Shock* But if you ask me, aside from the loveable Geordie duo, the real winners were some of the extraordinary women who lit up the red carpet on telly's most fabulous night.

But if you ask me, aside from the loveable Geordie duo, the real winners were some of the extraordinary women who lit up the red carpet on telly's most fabulous night.

I'm talking full-on girl power, brains and beauty with the likes of Great British Bake-Off winner Nadiya Hussain just owning her moment.

It was a big night for Nadiya, Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry as Bake Off scooped the gong for Challenge Show.

It's so refreshing to see a mum, Nadiya, practically plucked out of obscurity, who has gone on to win one of Britain's most loved shows through sheer talent, and has won over the public with her humility - breaking down boundaries of race and religion that can so often cause controversy at big award shows.

Yes, the Oscars! But let's not go there...

Indeed, we could do with more female role models like Nadiya - who hasn't gone down the path of taking up a big money weight loss deal (not like she needs it!), or getting a sexy make-over and posing provocatively for a magazine. This lady is keeping it real, and let's hope it stays like that.

Another hot mother who continues to surprise me, I've got to say is Katie Price.

Having spent much of the past decade covering Katie's shenanigans as her alter ego Jordan on her wild nights out, I'm astounded to see her transformation into what even she would never have thought she'd become - a bonafide Loose Woman.

Katie rocked the red carpet in a stunning Victoria Beckham gown - clearly putting to bed the old feud she had with the Spice Girl who is said to have, erm, barked the track, 'Who Let the Dog's Out' at her, many years ago. Katie looked classy in the demure charcoal number - with her hair scrapped back into an on-trend top knot, and minimal make-up - it was a far cry from the big haired 'mega-boobed' Jordan who used to dominate the headlines back in the day.

But on Wednesday night, a slightly shy Katie was being supported by her good friend Nadia Sawalha, a fellow Loose Woman, who kills it on the new look ITV show, while, Katie, a mother-of-five, was just happy to stand back and let her friend take the limelight.

However , what she did tell me was, well, Price-less.

Speaking about the challenge real mums face every day about doing the juggle of working to provide for your family, it dawned on me that despite her celebrity status, at the core of every mum there is a survival mode.

So how do you stay fabulous Katie, while doing the mummy juggle? 'Because you just have to.' Was her simple answer 'You find a way, and you do it for your family.'

Wise words.

Other amazing women hitting the red carpet included X Factor star Fleur East and Gloria Gaynor, who both performed at The O2 event, as well working yummy mummy Emma Willis. The Celebrity Big Brother presenter showed off her burgeoning bump in a floral ensemble, alongside Arlene Phillips, who wore a bespoke dress with hand sewn real flowers on it used for homeopathic remedies that took 100 hours to make.

Meanwhile Doctor Forster actress Suranne Jones, who won Drama Performance on the night, certainly brought the drama when she announced her pregnancy by revealing her gorgeous baby bump on the red carpet.

With an NTA under her belt, and a jam-packed schedule, 2016 is certainly going to be a busy one now she's joining the mum club.
