‘X Factor’ bosses have spoken out over reports that contestants are growing tired at preferential treatment being offered towards novelty rapper Honey G.
Earlier this week, The Mirror cited a source “close to the show” who claimed that the rest of the contestants were “angry” at Honey G, due to the fact she was getting whatever she wanted backstage, including her own dressing room.
However, while they’ve claimed this is creating an “atmosphere backstage”, an ‘X Factor’ spokesperson has dismissed these claims outright, branding them “ill-informed nonsense”.
In a statement issued to the Huffington Post UK, they say: “Honey does not have her own dressing room, all contestants share a green room and no one gets any preferential treatment.”
Although Honey G doesn’t have her own dressing room, she previously told Radio 1’s Nick Grimshaw that she has her own bedroom in the ‘X Factor’ house, joking: “I’m special like that!
“The other rooms, the girls are in one, the boys in another. Everyone has to sleep in bunk beds, so I do have bunk beds in my room too. That’s the way I roll.”
The Mirror’s insider was previously quoted as saying: “Anything the G wants, the G gets.
Four weeks into this ‘X Factor’ live shows, Honey G is yet to land herself in the bottom two performers, though her presence in the competition is beginning to rile viewers, particularly after Gifty Louise was eliminated in the most recent results show.
We caught up with Gifty shortly after her exit, during which she admitted that if ‘X Factor’ were like ‘Big Brother’, Honey G would be the contestant she’d want to evict.
