It's a case of another day, another rumour about the ‘X Factor’ overhaul, as it seems Simon Cowell is keen to get some new presenting talent in when the show returns to our screens later this year.
However, while there’s currently a job going on the main show, following Olly Murs and Caroline Flack's exits, it’s actually spin-off show ‘The Xtra Factor’ that the music mogul is currently finding someone for.
According to reports, Simon is about to axe double act Melvin Odom and Rochelle Humes, who made their debut on the ITV2 show last year, and replace them with Roman Kemp, radio presenter and son of Martin Kemp.
Roman tells The Sun: “We had a lot of talks in the past year about ‘Xtra Factor’ so we’ll see. It’s nice to know these big shows I look up to are watching and thinking about putting me in that show.
Currently, Roman presents on Capital Radio, having previously found success as a YouTuber.
An insider tells Metro: “It’s far too early to be able to confirm anything about this year’s series; discussions on Xtra Factor won’t take place until further details have been confirmed about main show.”
Meanwhile, it’s not yet known who’ll be taking the ‘X Factor’ presenting reins, with rumours suggesting past presenter Dermot O’Leary has been told by producers to “name his price” to come back, after Olly and Caroline received a lukewarm reception from viewers last year.
Nick Grimshaw has also bid farewell to the judging panel, with former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson current favourite to take over, and attention turning to whether Rita Ora will be back for a second year with the show this summer.
