Piers Morgan has voiced his support for Diversity’s BLM-themed performance on Britain’s Got Talent, after the dance troupe’s performance received thousands of complaints. Diversity’s routine, inspired by the events of 2020, included references to the killing of George Floyd, and the following global protests.
The Britain's Got Talent star has insisted she "never threatened to quit" the show.
The dance troupe leader insisted: "A lot of the negativity shows exactly why this performance was needed."
The media regulator has received over 1000 complaints since Saturday's performance, which won widespread praise from viewers.
The routine featured a police officer kneeling on lead dancer Ashley Banjo and the group taking a knee.
Amanda Holden, Piers Morgan, Davina McCall and Dermot O'Leary have also paid tribute to the comedian.
The pair came close to quitting the ITV talent show in 2012, as they were unhappy with how little of them was being shown on screen.
Simon is having to sit out some of the next stage of the competition after injuring himself in a bike incident.

Britain's Got Talent 2017, given the magnitude of last year's contestants, looks set to be the competition's biggest year yet. Last year, the likes of Beau Dermott, Boogie Storm and 100 Voices Of Gospel made it through the live shows, with magician Richard Jones triumphing in the final.
