As San Francisco's skies turned deep orange, the extent of California's historic wildfires was also picked up by satellites orbiting earth.
“CLIMATE. CHANGE. IS. REAL,” tweeted governor Gavin Newsom.
Six people have been killed by the fires, which are some of the largest in state history.
Searches for "California fire" were followed by terms including "laser beam" and "conspiracy 2018".
Two pilots flying over Malibu with low fuel and no hoisting equipment, decided to risk their lives to land in the thick of the California wildfires, saving three people and two dogs. The house was close to being engulfed by the flames of the Woolsey Fire. Over 1000 people remain unaccounted for as major fires spread over the region.
At least 63 people have died.
