Two pilots flying over Malibu with low fuel and no hoisting equipment, decided to risk their lives to land in the thick of the California wildfires, saving three people and two dogs. The house was close to being engulfed by the flames of the Woolsey Fire. Over 1000 people remain unaccounted for as major fires spread over the region.
US President Donald Trump got confused while touring California following the devastating wildfires. After visiting the town of Paradise, which was almost raised to the ground, he repeatedly calls it 'Pleasure' before being corrected by officials. Over 1000 people are now unaccounted for following the fires which swept the area.
Attempts are being made to create fire-wise communities, but clearly we have some way to go and time is not on our side.
71 people are known to have died.
Rescue workers and volunteers are searching through burned rubble in Paradise City, California, looking for human remains to identify those who may have died. The devastating Camp Fire burned the city almost to the ground. Over 630 people are still missing after the deadliest fire in the state’s history started last week.

The death toll has risen to over 30 people as the California wildfires are set to become the most destructive on state record. Emergency services issued mandatory evacuations for Hidden Hills, West Lake Village, Agoura Calabasas and Malibu, urging people to not try and defend their homes.
A further 228 people are unaccounted for.
