In the evening, another shooter in Dayton, Ohio, opened fire in a neighbourhood known for its nightlife, killing nine people. The previous weekend, a teenager opened fire at a garlic festival in California, killing three people.
The El Paso shooting suspect is believed to have posted on the forum, which is linked to three mass shootings this year alone.
30 people are dead in Texas and Ohio after the massacres which happened within just 13 hours of each other.
It comes after at least 20 people were killed in El Paso, Texas.
There are also reports of a second mass shooting overnight in Ohio.
Three suspects in the El Paso shooting reportedly have been taken into custody.
