Italy has become the first country in the world to make lessons on climate change compulsory in schools, in a move announced by the country’s education minister, Lorenzo Fioramonti. The news comes as students around the world continue to strike from school to protest a lack of action on climate change, while leading scientists have declared a “climate emergency”.
The Hollywood actor, who is an environmental campaigner himself, said Greta's message should be a "wake-up call to world leaders".
