Berlin’s Tierpark released more images of their newest polar bear cub, born on 1 December. The mum and baby will be housed in an isolated area to minimise the risk of the cub picking up an infection.

World famous broadcaster and environmentalist Sir David Attenborough took to the stage at the COP24 conference in Poland to deliver the People’s Seat Address. He addressed leaders directly, urging them to take charge, as scientists warn of increasingly dire outcomes if they fail to get climate change under control. The COP24 conference runs for two weeks, and world leaders will try to revive the 2015 Paris climate accord to keep global warming between 1.5 and two degrees Celsius this century.
The Met office has issued yellow severe weather warnings as Storm Diana brings strong winds and stormy seas. Winds are expected to reach 80mph in Western parts of the country. People took to social media to share large waves crashing over sea defences along parts of the Irish and Cornish coast.

With Christmas season in full-swing, London Zoo has set up a light display of animals to see once their 19,000 residents go to sleep. While some nocturnal animals may be spotted, a Zoo spokesperson has reassured that the light’s don’t bother any of the residents.
