"Piers’ departure sincerely wasn’t the conclusion I was hoping for," the weather presenter has insisted.
The presenter said her former colleague had been "very supportive to me personally".
"Any network worth its salt could find a role for a broadcaster of his calibre," Andrew Neil said of the former Good Morning Britain host.
Speaking on The Talk, Sharon said she felt she was about to be "put in the electric chair" over her friendship with Piers.
