'Strictly Come Dancing': Georgia May Foote Tops Leaderboard On Halloween Special, Forcing Jay McGuiness To Settle For Second Place

Georgia Steals Glory From Jay On 'Strictly' Halloween Special

It was Georgia May Foote’s turn to shine, as the former ‘Coronation Street’ star topped the leaderboard on Saturday’s (31 October) ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

MORE 'STRICTLY':

The actress and her partner Giovanni Pernice wowed the judges with their Tango to ‘Ghostbusters’ by Ray Parker Junior on the Halloween Special of the BBC ballroom show.

The pair picked up an impressive 35 points from judges Len Goodman, Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli.

Favourite Jay McGuiness and his partner Aliona Vilani had to settle for joint-second place, however, as their American Smooth to ‘Li'l Red Riding Hood’ by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs was awarded 34 points.

The couple tied with Helen George and her partner Aljaz Skorjanec, whose Samba to Scissor Sisters’ ‘Take You Mama’ also impressed the panel.

At the other end of the leaderboard was Carol Kirkwood and Pasha Kovalev, coming bottom with just 12 points for their Rumba to ‘I Think I Love You’ by The Partridge Family.

Just above them was Kirsty Gallacher and Brendan Cole on 17 points for their Charleston to Lady Gaga’s ‘Bad Romance’.

Two couples will find themselves in the dance-off on tonight’s show, when one of them will leave the competition for good, with 10 celebrities surviving to dance another day.

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ airs tonight (1 November) at 7.15pm on BBC One.
