Naga Munchetty has become the ninth celebrity to be confirmed for this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘BBC Breakfast’ presenter announced her place on the line-up on Thursday (18 August) morning’s edition of the show.
Naga said in a statement: “I’ve always enjoyed watching ‘Strictly.’ It’s a brilliant show and it’s lots of fun. Fun is the word I would use to describe it.
“The only way I think I can really embarrass myself is not giving 100%. If you’re going to do something – always be the best at it. Always do your best.”
Naga follows in the footsteps of other ‘BBC Breakfast’ hosts Susanna Reid, Natasha Kaplinsky, Chris Hollins and Carol Kirkwood by signing up for the ballroom competition.
“I’ve known Chris Hollins and will never forget his wonderful Charleston,” she said.
“There’s Susanna obviously – she was amazing. I loved her dramatic dances. Then there’s Carol. She completely embraced it.”
Naga joins TV personality pop singer Louise Redknapp, ‘Pop Idol’ winner Will Young, former Labour MP Ed Balls, presenter Laura Whitmore, ‘BBC Breakfast’ regular Ore Oduba, former ‘Xtra Factor’ host Melvin Odoom, and ex-’Hollyoaks’ actor Danny Mac and model Daisy Lowe on this year’s line-up.
More contestants will be announced in the coming days, ahead of the new series’ launch next month.
